Lot traceability
Know what went in.
See where it went.
Traceability comes from the work you record: a receipt with its supplier lot, production with the lots you consumed, and an order with the finished batch you shipped.

- 01
Receipt & location
Give the incoming lot a reference.
Receive the material into a storage location and record the supplier lot number. Keeping lots distinct gives you a starting point for later investigation.
- 02
Work order
Select the lots you actually use.
Record component consumption against a work order. Each new production event links its finished output to the material lots consumed in that event, including partial production.
- 03
Finished stock
Keep each production stage connected.
Record the finished batch identifier. If that batch becomes an input for another product, the next production event creates the next set of links.
- 04
Allocation & shipment
Choose the batch going to the customer.
Allocate the finished lot to a sales order. Reservation reduces available stock; shipment reduces physical stock and records the customer and order reference.
- 05
Investigation
Start with a batch or lot number.
Open Reports → Traceability, enter the batch code and choose the item if the code is shared. Inspect Inputs, Outputs and Transaction History. Open a linked batch to follow the next stage.
Three useful places to look.
- Inputs
- The material lots and earlier batches recorded in production.
- Outputs
- Later batches and customer shipments linked to the selected batch.
- Transaction History
- Stock movements behind the batch, including linked reversals.
Search uses a batch or lot code. This view follows recorded links; it cannot reconstruct missing history or make a recall decision for you.
